Vladimir Nadein

Producer, curator

Born in 1993 in Moscow, Vladimir Nadein is a producer, film curator and actor, and also director of the Moscow International Experimental Film Festival (MIEFF), which he co-founded in 2016.He graduated from the acting department of the Moscow Art Theatre School in 2013, and in 2015-2016 he took a post-graduate course in direction and scriptwriting. Nadein has curated special film programmes for the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and Lumiere Brothers Gallery and Photography Centre in Moscow, UCLA University of California, the Hamburg International Short Film Festival and the Moscow Jewish Film Festival. From 2012 to 2016, he was a member of the Satirikon Theatre company, and collaborated with the Praktika Theatre, the Theatre of Nations and the Mayakovsky Academic Theatre. Actor in Russian and foreign films. He also participated in the Image of the Rescue / Rescuing the Image performance, directed by Christian von Borries and Dieter Lesage at the HAU theatre (Berlin), as well as the “A Better Version of You” Technology Art Fair at Art Sonje (Seoul) and the Goethe Institute (Beijing) with the AI chat-bot Replika project. In 2018 he was a member of the international jury at Hamburg International Short Film Festival. In 2017 he produced Birobidzhan Atlas, a Russian-American short film (directed by Anton Ginzburg) for the “Birobidzhan” exhibition project. In 2019 he produced Arrival, a short film that saw its world premiere in the competition programme at the 65th Oberhausen International Short Film Festival.
