Nastia Tarasova

Documentary film director and producer

A documentary film director and producer, music producer, and programme director for the DOKer international documentary film festival, she graduated from Igor Gelein’s workshop in the direction faculty at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (2006). Tarasova has won numerous prizes from leading Russian and European festivals for her films The Old Dacha, Children of the Great Lake, Faithful, Unemployed and Linar, including Message to Man (where Unemployed was named Best Short Documentary Film in the international competition in 2009). As an executive and co-producer she has brought to life a series of international projects, including Women of the Gulag (nominated for an Oscar in 2019 in the Best Short Documentary Film category). In 2019 she completed a course in music production at DJ Groove’s Audioschool, and makes music under the name of Sovatara.
