Huang Ji

She graduated from Beijing Film Academy. “The Warmth of Orange Peel” (2009), a short film she wrote and directed upon her graduation, was selected for the Berlinale Generation. Her debut feature “Egg and Stone” (2012) won the Tiger Award at Rotterdam and the Grand Prix at the Zerkalo IFF. After marrying her long-time cinematographer Ryuji Otsuka, they co-directed the documentary feature “Trace” (2013). “The Foolish Bird” (2017), co-directed with Ryuji, won a Special Mention at Berlinale Generation 14+ and other awards. Their next feature “Stonewalling” had its world premiere at Venice. Later it won Best Film, Best Actress and the FIPRESCI Award at HKIFF and NETPAC Award at Jeonju IFF. Huang Ji is the founder and mentor for AROUND YOU Film Workshop.
