Evgenia Ostanina

Director

Evgenia Ostanina graduated from the Southern Federal University’s Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies in 2011. In 2012 she worked as an editing director on the project “The Term”, later renamed “Lenta.doc”, and in 2013-2014 she was both the Director of Editing and Production Editor for the web-project “Reality”. In 2015, she was Assistant Director on the project “This is Me” (a documentary series for Channel One)m and in 2018, she shot her debut film “White Mama”, the world premiere of which took place at the Krakow Film Festival. The film won the prize of the International Association of Film Critics FIPRESCI at the Message to Man Film Festival and received prizes at the Saratov Sufferings, BirDuino, and Rudnik film festivals. The film also received the Laurel Prize and was nominated for the Nika National Film Award. In 2021, as a scriptwriter, director and editor, Evgenia released the film “Rastorhuev”. This work opened the Artdocfest and was shown at the 74th Locarno Film Festival in the Histoire(s) du Cinema programme.
