Stories of Great Collections is a documentary about the phenomenon of private collecting in Russia. Its central figure, Nazim Mustafayev, has assembled a substantial holding: more than 2,500 landmark pairs of shoes and outfits from the mid-19th century to the present. The collection became the basis of the online museum Shoe Icons; individual pieces have entered the State Hermitage Museum. Through Nazim and those who share his passion, the film is a journey in time – not a chronicle only, but an entry into the intimate world of collectors, where each object comes alive as a witness to its age.
About the director:
Roman Glova
Director, cinematographer, and editor from Krasnodar; a graduate of Krasnodar State University of Culture and Arts. He works in film, television, and advertising, and has collaborated with TNT, VK, OK, Dzen, Pyatnitsa!, STS, Channel One, Comedy Club Production, Premier, and various streaming platforms.
