Description
Reem Mansour is a Frenchwoman of Palestinian origin who works at the Administrative Detention Centre in Marseille. Male detainees come to her for medical care, facing an uncertain future, with many on the brink of deportation. For the bureaucratic system, they are just numbers in a ledger. Day after day, Reem dedicates herself to helping these men regain their dignity and self-respect. “I’m not the police, I’m a hospital,” she often repeats.
The film premiered in competition at the Cinéma du réel festival in Paris and was later showcased at various festivals, including the Festival dei Popoli in Florence.
