Larisa Sadilova

A director, screenwriter and producer, she graduated from the direction and acting department of Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova’s workshop at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. She made her acting debut in film in 1984, appearing in the role of a high-scholl girl in the film Lev Tolstoy. In 1998 she made her first featurelength film Happy Birthday!, which won the grand prix at Créteil, a FIPRESСI award at Cottbus, prizes at Mannheim and Bratislava, and the Prix Georges Sadoul, among others. Her second film as director, With Love, Lilly (2002), won in Rotterdam, and her film Nothing Personal (2007) was awarded a FIPRESСI award at the Moscow International Film Festival. Her film Once in Trubchevsk (2019) premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes. Vegetable Garden was shown in competition at the 2022 edition of the Moscow International Film Festival.
