Programme 4: Helsinki Film Workshop and Beyond

Description

The Helsinki film workshop was a collective of filmmakers and artists in Helsinki, that also invited international artists to work and organize workshops in the city. This programme looks at some of its early from the early to mid 90’s, but also moves beyond and looks at the activities that followed in all its variegated aspects and inventions. Works of initial members such as Seppo Renvall, Sami van Ingen, Alli Savolainen, Marjatta Oja, will be accompanied by The Zone of Total Eclipse, a performance with two 16mm projectors, by Mika Taanila.

Films will be presented by directors Mika Taanila (Finland) and Sami van Ingen (Finland).
