"Song for Europe"
On December 1st 1990, watched by the world’s media, construction worker Graham Fagg of Dover climbed through a hole in a chalk wall 40 metres below the seabed of the English Channel, shook the hand of Philippe Cozette of Calais and shouted, Vive la France! On June 23rd 2016, Britain voted to leave the European Union. Inspired by a message for motorists on Eurotunnel trains, Song for Europe is an underwater celebration of Britain’s connection to the mainland.
After a deadly car accident, a camera’s super zoom becomes the director’s eye, wandering through a summery Rome in search of his lover for a last goodbye.
Jay wakes up in Manila, yet he dreamed of Athens. He has a nightmare, during which he has a special quest: to save his two daughters from a dangerous surgery. In his attempt to rescue them, he roams around Athens’ cityscape, seeing things under a very different light.

"A Plastic Bottle's Stair Dance"
A plastic bottle performs a stair dance*, hopping up and down, tapping off wild rhythms то вверх, то вниз и отбивая ритмы, like a Broadway dancer. At first glance, the bottle seems to be simply thrown around by gusts of wind, but as the dance intensifies, it becomes more and more apparent that the bottle is rebelling against the wind, not following it. Finally, the bottle leaps into a different space, which has subtly revealed its presence more than once during the dance but seemed so far from this bustle and flurry and the chiaroscuro on the concrete steps.
*stair dance: a tap dance performed up and down a small flight of stairs
The film Three Casualties is an investigation of three movie scenes, showing stunts that lead to the deaths of the stunt doubles performing them. In some cases these scenes remained in the films whereby the audience witnessed an actual death on screen while simultaneously watching a fictional one.
"The Hymns of Muscovy"
The film is a trip to the planet Muscovy – an upside-down twin city of Moscow in space. As the title of the work suggests, the journey also takes us back in time. Gliding over the surface of the planet, we look down and see historic architectural styles fly by – the exuberant Socialist Classicism, aka Stalinist Empire, the austere and brutish Soviet Modernism, and the hodgepodge of contemporary knock-offs and revivals of the styles of the past. An essential companion to this journey through time and space are Hymnic Variations on the Soviet anthem.
