Description
Leningrad, the 1960s. During a winter sojourn at a holiday camp, hydraulic engineer Vadim falls in love with a biologist named Vera. Their budding romance is interrupted by an imminent work trip to Egypt – Vadim is to take part in the construction of the Aswan hydropower plant on the Nile. He promises to return from the construction site as a hero. The Nile – now that’s a challenge! But not for Vadim. The Volga and the Don, the Yenisei and the Dnieper, the Angara and the Lena – not a single river has yet withstood his onslaught. And nor will Vera.
