About the director:
Marta Mateus
Filmmaker and producer, born in 1984. She studied philosophy, drawing, photography, music, and theatre. She directed Barbs Wastelands (2017), which premiered at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes, and Fire of Wind (2024), presented in International Competition at the Locarno Film Festival. Both films were selected for festivals worldwide, winning major prizes and shown in museums and galleries. Her video and sound installations have also featured in numerous group exhibitions. In 2018, Marta Mateus founded the production company Clarão Companhia.
