Description

Through massive wooden crates inscribed with strange hieroglyphs, the filmmakers lead the viewer into ΚΟΙΝΟΣ ΚΟΣΜΟΣ: a fluid space where history, mythology, and play converge. Here, boundaries dissolve into permeable membranes, allowing fact and fiction, the inner and the outer, the past and the future, the living and the inanimate to exchange forms, meanings, and roles.

Audiovisual artists and directors. They experiment with multimedia forms and performative practices. Their projects have been showcased at the Multimedia Art Museum, Stanislavsky Electrotheatre, the Archstoyanie Festival, GES-2, the Svody Art Production Centre, Street Art Museum, Radio House, and other venues. Their 2022 film Triptych won the main prize “Golden Taiga – Short Film” at the Spirit of Fire IFF and were selected for the National Competition at Message to Man.

A montage film exploring Soviet holiday rituals, crafted from rediscovered family footage. Scenes of everyday life, captured on aging 8mm film, flicker, crack, and disintegrate before our eyes. The film’s soundscape blends radio noise, voices, and industrial sounds from homemade synthesizers.

Filmmaker specializing in found footage and co-founder of the amateur film archive, cinema, and analogue laboratory Cycle. Curator of the Sky Cinema programme at the 35th Message to Man IFF and collaborator with several Russian film festivals. Born in 2003 in Yekaterinburg, he currently resides and works in Moscow. Holidays is his debut film.

Ivan Vlasov
Director, cinematographer. Born and raised in Tula. Graduated in 2023 from VGIK, Sergey Miroshnichenko’s non-fiction workshop. Prize-winner and participant at Russian and international festivals with Edge (2022) and Brave World (2023). At the 34th Message to Man International Film Festival, Ivan Vlasov and Nikita Stashkevich’s The Wind Has No Tail won Best Film in the National Competition, as well as the Alexander Rastorguev Award.
