Mikhail Gusman

International journalist, professor

Mikhail Gusman was born in 1950 in Baku. He is an international journalist and professor. From 1986 to 1991, he was the Director of the Press Center of the Committee of Youth Organizations of the USSR. He began working at ITAR-TASS in 1996, and in 2000, he became the First Deputy Director General. He is Russia’s representative at UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Program for the Development of Communication. He is the creator and host of the television program Formula Vlasti and has made more than 20 documentary films. He has been awarded the Order for Service to the Fatherland and the Order of Honor. He is a Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, the Golden Pen Award, the Ernst Mühlemann Award (Switzerland), and he has received state awards from Azerbaijan, Italy, and other countries.
