Ksenia Okhapkina

Director and Producer

Ksenia Okhapkina was born in Leningrad in 1989 and graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Technology, working under A.I. Gutman. She has been working in cinema since 2010, and was winner of the Grand Prix at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, had nominations for the Academy Award Oscar for the film Immortal (2019), the Russian national award Nika for the film In the beginning was … Cube (2013), and the Estonian national award EFTA for the film Come Back Free (2016). She is the author of seven documentaries that have become participants and prize-winners of more than a hundred different Russian and international film festivals. Since 2014 she has been co-producing with Estonia, Latvia and France as a director and line producer. Ksenia’s films have been shown in various contemporary art museums such as MoMa (New York), ICA (London), KuMu (Tallinn), as well as on Estonian, Russian, Latvian, Czech and Japanese television. She is a member of the Guild of Documentarians of Russia and a member of the Union of Visual Artists of the European Union.
