Synopsis:
A deadly accident between a self-driving car and a pedestrian sets off an investigation about the role of human workers in the training of driverless cars. Testimonies from vehicle operators guide us through a night shift where the landscape merges with data from the car’s sensors.
About the director:
Nicolas Gourault is a visual artist and independent researcher based in Paris. Having completed a master’s thesis at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales on the visual language of Forensic Architecture, he is currently en rolled at Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains. Further to this, he worked at Forensic Architecture in 2017, investigating cases of unlawful detention and torture in Northern Cameroon, and worked on the online platform Conquer and Divide in 2019.
