Synopsis:
A young couple are visited in their home by strangers. By using the hospitality provided to them, the unexpected guests provoke the couple into rash acts, wrecking the established order and harmony within the family.
About the director:
Varya Yakovleva. Illustrator, artist and animator, director and pedagogue. She graduated from the art faculty at the Film Institute VGIK and also completed a course in animation direction at the SHAR School Studio. She was production designer for director Andrei Khrzhanovsky’s film The Nose, or the Conspiracy of Mavericks. Her animations The Square (2016), Anna, Cat-and-Mouse (2020) and Life’s A Bitch (2021) were awarded the Icarus and White Elephant prizes, and also won prizes at the animation festivals worldwide. Varya Yakovleva is a three-time prizewinner at the Message to Man IFF.
