Description
Tåke (Fog) observes the spectacle of fog through several different film- and video formats. The film explores the behaviour of Super 8 and 16mm film, as well as digital video, when it encounters a visual obstacle. The imagery is recorded on location in Oslo, the Azores, Beijing and Newfoundland. In parallel to the image, the soundtrack attempts to create an auditory fog. The film compares the loss of visibility to the loss of audible frequencies.
About the director: Inger Lise Hansen is a Norwegian visual artist with background in experimental film and animation. She studied fine art at the University of East London and Central St. Martin’s College of Art, and filmmaking at San Francisco Art Institute. Her films have been shown in international institutions and galleries such as Tate Modern and Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. Her latest film Tåke was recently shown at International Film Festival Rotterdam and won the jury prize at the Ann Arbor Film Festival (U.S.).
