Description
A man sets out in search of the shortest thing in Tokyo. “Extremely Short” is the first installment in a series of animated shorts called “Bungaku Bideo” (Literature Videos).
About the director:
Koji Yamamura
Animation director. Born in 1964 in Japan, he created his first animated film at the age of 13. Studied at Zokei University of Tokyo. In 1993, he founded his own studio, Yamamura Animation. His film The Mt. Head (2002) became the first Japanese short animated film to be nominated for an Academy Award, and was included in the list of the 100 best films at the Annecy Festival. Franz Kafka’s a Country Doctor (2007) won 8 Grand Prix awards, and his first feature-length work Dozens of Norths won the Grand Prix at festivals in Annecy and Ottawa. His films won a total of over 140 awards. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and a professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts.
