Synopsis:
On August 4th 2020, an explosion hits the port of Beirut destroying a large part of Lebanon’s capital. Directly hit by the catastrophe, a Lebanese film crew decides to continue shooting their movie against all odds seeing it as an effort of resistance and survival in a nation struggling with economic turmoil and societal collapse.

About the director:
Cyril Aris. Dirctor, screenwriter. member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He holds an MFA from Columbia University in the City of New York, and has taught Film at Columbia University. His shorts “Siham” (2013) and “The President’s Visit” have been screened allover the world and have won prizes at Dubai, Nashville, Palm-Springs and others. Cyril Aris’ full-length documentary “The Swing” (2018) has been awarded at El Gouna, Rome, London, Budapest and Tunisia. Commercial work includes commercials, music videos and fashion films for clients such as Google, Macy’s, Michelin etc. He is currently in financing for his first fiction feature.
