Synopsis:
RigoPex is a serious but eccentric sound engineer whose comfortable life is suddenly disturbed by a strange phenomenon: The Pink Flamingo.
These pink birds seem to follow him everywhere like signs that lead Rigo to an investigation to reveal their mysterious meaning.
He’ll study their impact in our society and eventually travel to the US to meet a series of disparate characters who reinforce their personality with the bird’s figure: Internet sensation Pink Lady, music guru Allee Willis, pop band KeroKero Bonito or cult filmmaker John Waters, among many others.
About the director:
Javier Polo is a young Valencian filmmaker that shares his passion for documentaries and fiction productions with the world of advertising. He has received several awards for his innovative work in diverse formats, having shot films on five different continents. Europe in 8 Bits (2013). The film has been honored with several prizes and has been screened at some of the globe’s major film festivals. His short film The Lift (2015). The Lift has picked up a few awards and has also been aired on French national TV.
His last short film, Catharsis (2018) has been premiered in Berlin InterFilm.
The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo (2020) is his second feature-length documentary and it’s having its World Premiere in South By SouthWest.
