Description

Russian premiere

Dancer Sonja Vukićević (74) moves through spaces shaped by the era of Socialist Modernism, while her body, like an archive, preserves the memory of the last mass performance in Yugoslavia. In her gestures, the rhythms of the past mingle with the present. At the same time, we hear fragments from the diary of a seventeen-year-old girl, which she kept in 1988. Together, they reveal the transition from socialist collectivism to a growing individualism, even as a new national collective body is already taking shape — one that would soon come to define the country’s future.
