



Description
The action unfolds in 1991, during the collapse of the Soviet Union and Cuba’s plunge into a long economic crisis. Sergio, an instructor of Marxist theory, is having trouble providing for his family during this difficult time, and communicates via radio with Sergei, a Soviet cosmonaut stuck on the Mir Space Station. They share a love for amateur radio, which helps them overcome their loneliness and live through the dramatic changes in the fates of their two countries.
About the director: Ernesto Daranas was born in Havana in 1961. In 2004, he wrote the screenplay for and shot the film Los últimos gaiteros de La Habana, for which he received the King of Spain Journalism Award, one of the most important prizes in the Spanish-speaking world. Also in 2004, Daranas shot the television movie ¿La Vida en Rosa?. This work won the grand prize at the First National Festival of Television of Cuba and six other awards.
