About the director:
Narges Kalhor
Director, video artist. Born and raised in Tehran, she studied directing at the Tehran Film School and visual communications at Kamal-Ol-Molk University, where she began making short and experimental films. Since 2009, she has been living in Germany, where she graduated from the Munich University of Television and Film. Kalhor’s film Shoot Me (2014) was nominated for the German Short Film Award. Her feature debut, In the Name of Scheherazade (2019), received a prize at the DOK Leipzig festival and the Bavarian Cultural Prize. Her second feature, Shahid (2024), had its world premiere at the Berlinale Forum and later won the documentary competition at the 1/6 Film Festival.
