Description
The story of a small Russian town and the people who live there. The film’s protagonists range in age from nine to 90 years old, and each has their own experience of survival in challenging conditions. They are united by their desire to see good in the world, their hope for a miracle – and Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s novel “A Hundred Years of Solitude”.
About the director:
Vladimir Popov
Director, screenwriter. Born in 1961 in the town of Kazalinsk (Kazakhstan), from 1981 to 1990 Vladimir Popov worked as a high-school teacher. He graduated from the history faculty of the Nizhny Tagil Pedagogical Institute, and then in 1998 from the High Courses for Scriptwriters and Film Directors. Since 1995 he has directed more than 10 documentary and fiction films, which have been screened at different festivals. His film The Klondike won the grand prize at the Stalker International Film Festival in 2002, while Carry Me Away, Wind was awarded the Bronze Knight at the Zolotoi VityazInternational Film Festival in Russia.
