BITING THE DUST

Information about the film

Genres: Experimental, Short-length

Director: NEOZOON

Year: 2021

Country: Germany

Duration: 13 min.

Description

Synopsis:
A found footage film about the Christian idea of life after death and the central question of which living beings will go to heaven. The film opens the view on social and religious imagery full of contradictions and thematicises how social networks are increasingly pushing ideas of a dazzling afterlife. Against the background of the strengthening of religious-right worldviews, this becomes particularly relevant in times of climate crisis.

About the director:
NEOZOON is a female art duo founded in 2009 in Berlin and Paris. Their artistic work is based on the principle of collage and examines sociological questions dealing with speciesism in the Anthropocene. The de- and recontextualization of Found Footage / YouTube material is a recurring element.
