Description
A young man named Kesha returns to his village after a long absence. He has completed a prison term but now simply wants to live a quiet, normal life. His younger brother, only 17, has plans for college. However, the brothers’ perspectives on the future shift dramatically when Kesha joins a gold-mining crew.

Vladimir Munkuev
Director, screenwriter. Born in 1987 in Yakutsk, he graduated from the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts and, in 2017, from the Moscow Film School (workshop of Boris Khlebnikov and Alexey Popogrebsky). That same year, he debuted with the crime comedy Dude. For his second full-length work Nuuccha (2021), he won the Grand Prix in the East of the West section at the Karlovy Vary IFF, as well as the directing prize at Kinotavr.
Maxim Arbugaev
Director, cinematographer. Born in 1991 in Yakutsk, he studied documentary film directing at VGIK (workshop of Sergey Miroshnichenko). His film Genesis 2.0 won the Best Cinematography Award at Sundance. His work Haulout (2022), co-directed with his sister Evgenia, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film and received six awards at the 2022 Message to Man IFF.
