“Nursing Room” tells the story of women’s sacrifices in motherhood and the reincarnation of female generations in a space of “women’s collective unconscious”. The collision of textures presents a tender yet grotesque visual effect, transforming the “custom” of mothers sacrificing for their children into a cruel spectacle, promoting a new perspective on the identity of motherhood.
About the director:
Kiki Yuan
Audiovisual artist. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, she is currently taking an MA in filmmaking at the London Film School. With a profound passion for film, animation, and literature, she explores the possibilities of audiovisual narrative mediums. Her works frequently center on motifs of ghosts, childhood, displacement, carving out an exploratory space between imagination and reality.
Scarlett Wang
Artist and filmmaker. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, she specialises in visual storytelling, animation, and portfolio teaching, and has also worked in fashion branding, motion graphics, and independent filmmaking. She looks to bring art, design, and education practice together in thoughtful visual experiences, working across international and interdisciplinary contexts.
