Synopsis:
“Geographies of Solitude” is an immersion into the rich ecosystem of Sable Island and the life of Zoe Lucas, a naturalist and environmentalist who has lived over 40 years on this remote sliver of land in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean.
About the director:
Jacquelyn Mills. Director, cinematographer, editor and sound designer. She was born in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Now she lives and works in Montreal, Canada. Jacquelyn is a Sundance Alumni and an IDA Documentary Award nominee. Her mid-length film “In the Waves” (2017) was premiered at Visions du Reel. It won the main prizes at Atlantic Film Festival, New Hampshire FF and Montreal International Documentary Festival. “Geographies of Solitude” is her feature film debut.
