What happens when a painting by a great Dutch artist comes to life in a half-abandoned Russian village?
About the director: Born in Voronezh, Russia in 1986, Dina Barinova graduated from Voronezh State University’s journalism department. In 2012 she won an educational grant to study at Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov’s School of Documentary Film and Theatre and moved to Moscow. Her documentary debut Shrove Sunday was screened at festivals including International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), DocLisboa, the Budapest Internatioon Documentary Festival, Artdocfest, and Message to Man. Barinova worked on her second documentary, The Potato Eaters, for five years, and its premiere took place at IDFA in 2018.
