Description
A rat dwells in a cage. The cage sits in a room, where a poet resides. The room lies within a vast communal apartment, housed in a sprawling building with countless windows. The building stands in a courtyard-well, beside a mustachioed yard keeper in his tarpaulin boots. The courtyard rests in the city, the city in the country, and beyond lies the year 1939. A collage film drawn from Daniil Kharms’ works, including The Old Woman, written as the Second World War began.
