About the director:
Varya Yakovleva was born in 1983 in Saratov, Russia. She graduated from the art faculty of VGIK (Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. Gerasimov) and graduated from the school-studio Shar faculty of directors of animation. Her student film The Square received awards at animation festivals. For several years she worked in book illustration and worked as art-director on the film The Nose or the conspiracy of mavericks by Andrei Khrzhanovsky.
