Description
Neighbours Prabha and Anu live in Mumbai, they are educated and financially independent. However, in the eyes of society they are just women. Prabha was married off very young. Her husband left to earn money and does not communicate with her. She is lonely, but the formal marriage does not allow her to establish a personal life. Anu tries to refuse the groom who was chosen, because she already has a lover. But he professes a different religion. Will the girls find their way to light and happiness in this very modern and very unmodern world.

About the director:
Payal Kapadia
Filmmaker, she is based in Mumbai. She studied Film Direction at the Film & Television Institute of India. Her short films Afternoon Clouds and And What Is The Summer Saying premiered respectively at the Cinéfondation and the Berlinale. Her first feature film A Night of Knowing Nothing premiered at 2021 Director’s Fortnight, where it won the Golden Eye for best documentary.
