Based on the story of the same name by William Saroyan.
Morning dawns in the city. The sea, trams, a piano on the pavement. The great actor McGregor arrives, a performer whose songs make hearts tremble with sorrow and joy. Yet his own heart is not here, but in distant, beautiful highlands.
One of the world’s greatest poets invites the actor to join him for breakfast. For the occasion, the poet sends his son to Kozak’s shop for a fresh loaf of bread, a pound of cheese, and a bottle of wine. But Kozak’s shop no longer sells on a loan. “When is he going to have money?” Monsieur Kozak asks the boy. “Never,” the boy replies, “One can’t be great for money!”
