Synopsis:
Duarte, a blind man in his 50’s, starts to look for his Cape Verdean friend, Leandro, who mysteriously disappeared. Despite Lisbon’s summer heat, Duarte walks miles in his neighborhood but no-one seems to have seen him, nor remembers him. His quest will eventually lead him to the heart of the night, and reveal his secret.
About the director:
First trained as an actress, Cristèle Aves Meira soon became a stage director at the age of 20. In 2007 she directed a first documentary, Som&Morabeza, in which she reflected on the issues of immigration in Portuguese. In 2010 Cristèle directed her second documentary Born in Luanda. She then directed two short films, both fictions, a Summer film and a Winter film, in her mother’s village Sol Branco (2014), and Campo de Viboras (2016), selected at Cannes Critic’s Week, IndieLisboa, Clermont-Ferrand, among others. Invisible Hero is her latest short film.
