Synopsis:
After twenty years of separation, the brothers Adi and Valentin go on a trip. Adi is 32 years old and lives in their parents’ house, excluded by many social networks, without work, he benefits from a disability pension. In Valentin’s eyes, he’s more antisocial than disabled, even if something clearly inhibits his capacity for autonomy.
About the director:
Valentin Merz Tanören moved to Mexico City in 2007, where he worked as a typographer and made his first steps into cinema. From 2009 to 2014 he lived in Berlin, where he worked in cinema and theater. From 2014 to 2017 he studied film at the HEAD in Geneva. His short films have been shown in festivals and museums, such as Visions du Réel in Nyon, Solothurner Filmtage, les Rencontres Internationals Paris/Berlin and the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne. In 2017 he was awarded a grant from the city of Geneva to take up a one-year residency in Paris. In 2018 he co-founded the production company Andrea Film and is currently working on his first feature film.
