On October 18 at 7:00 PM, a creative meeting with Alexey Fedorchenko and Denis Osokin will take place at 15 Fontanka Embankment, followed by a special screening of Celestial Wives of the Meadow Mari. The discussion will be moderated by Vasily Stepanov.
The second collaboration between Fedorchenko and Osokin is a “Mari Decameron” comprising 23 short stories about Mari women. Each story is a self-contained genre piece, ranging from one to ten minutes in length. The stories are joyful and sad, funny and frightening. An ornamental film, a film-calendar, it explores the philosophy, traditions, and contemporary life of the Mari people.
