Alexei Khanyutin

Filmmaker. President of the Guild of Non-Fiction Film and Television, artistic director of Parallax Pictures, and head of the Faculty of Film and Television Directing at the Institute of Contemporary Art. Born in Moscow in 1956. He graduated from the directing department of VGIK (1978, workshop of Roman Karmen) and received a PhD from the Institute of Art Studies, where he later worked as a research fellow. He has appeared twice at Message to Man: in 1991, his DMB-91 won the Festival’s main prize, the Golden Centaur, and in 2024 Still with Us received the Press Jury Award and the prize from the Festival’s honorary president, Mikhail Litvyakov.
