Description
Fujino, a gifted and determined teenager, is confident in her talent as an aspiring manga artist while the reclusive Kyomoto rarely leaves her room, devoting herself entirely to drawing. Brought together by their shared passion, the two small-town girls pursue their dream of becoming manga artists over the course of thirteen years.

Hirokazu Koreeda
Director and screenwriter. Born in Tokyo in 1962, he is a graduate of Waseda University. One of Japan’s most decorated filmmakers: awards from the Asian Film Awards, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, the Japan Academy, the Swedish Film Institute, the César Awards, the Blue Ribbon Awards, and Kinema Junpo; a prizewinner and regular at film festivals in Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Mar del Plata, Jerusalem, and elsewhere.
