The film traces the fate of mosaic art in Russia through the Frolov dynasty — master craftsmen whose distinctive work marks churches, museums, and public buildings. The story of the Mosaic Workshop in St. Petersburg, which helped decorate the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, Lenin’s Mausoleum, and Mayakovskaya metro station, is told through personal recollections, archival documents, and images shot in the present.

Director and producer. Born in 1966, based in Yekaterinburg. He has won prizes at many festivals, including Venice, Rome, São Paulo, Mar del Plata, Warsaw, Stockholm, Moscow, Tallinn, Belgrade, and Jeonju. A recipient of the Nika, Golden Eagle, and White Elephant awards, Fedorchenko is a member of the Russian, European, and Asia Pacific film academies.
