Johanna ter Steege

Johanna ter Steege (born 1961) studied drama teaching in Kampen, then attended drama school in Arnhem. Ter Steege’s debut came with Spoorloos (directed by George Sluizer), for which she won the Felix Award in Berlin for best supporting performance. Many Dutch and international film awards followed throughout her career. She has appeared in Dutch films such as Tot Ziens (by Heddy Honigmann), Guernsey (Nanou Leopold), Achtste Groepers Huilen Niet (Dennis Bots), Last Conversation (Noud Heerkens) and Lilet Never (Jacco Groen). She played the lead role in the KPN series Brussel (by Arno Dierickx). Internationally, Ter Steege has worked with renowned actors such as Glenn Close, Tim Roth and Cate Blanchett. Her international filmography includes films like Vincent and Theo (by Robert Altman), Sweet Emma Dear Böbe (István Szabó), J’entends Plus la Guitare (Phillippe Garrel), Immortal Beloved (Bernard Rose), Paradise Road (Bruce Beresford), Magic Paris (Alice Winicour) and Was Uns Nicht Umbringt (Sandra Nettelbeck), among many others.
