About the director:
Zaka Abdrahmanova. Director and screenwriter. She graduated from the philology faculty of Karaganda State University (2005), and later from Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov’s School of Documentary Film and Theatre (2017). Her documentary film The Last Year (2019) received a special mention from the jury at Flahertiana and the Kultura TV channel prize at Message to Man. The fiction series My Mother’s Pernguins, for which she co-wrote the screenplay, won the White Elephant Award for Best TV Series and the Golden Eagle Award for Best TV Actress.
