Programme 2: Recalling Uneven Topographies: Films by Tinne Zenner & Inger Lise Hansen
Time and place
Description
In the work of both Tinne Zenner and Inger Lise Hansen — two prominent voices within the Nordic alternative film culture — landscape plays an important role. The subtle differences in their respective methods allow for fascinating interactions and dialogues. The exploration of geological and architectural traces through the prolongation of time as a mnemotechnical means for revealing cultural and personal memory and the study of the process of translation is a prevailing motif in the work of Zenner. Hansen works with time compression, time-lapse photography and experimental animation, and is also interested in investigating how architectural structures and landscapes are tied to the functioning mythologies of memory, which she does by dividing, bending and altering the frame.
Films will be presented by directors Tinne Zenner (Denmark) and Inger Lise Hansen (Norway).
